  • 1.  Does Imperva Agent support MySQL DB 8.0.* version installed on Windows Server 2019

    Hello Imperva community, 

    Does anyone know if Imperva Agent support installed on MySQL DB version 8.0.* deployed on Windows Server 2019 OS. 

    From the Imperva Data Security Coverage tool, i can see that there are agent support if i pick "MySQL 8.0 + Windows 2019".

    However, when i choose "MySQL 8.0 (on Windows)" then it said that there are no agent supported. 

    Kindly assist

    Hi Chau Vo Ba,

    Yes, Imperva agent supports monitoring of MySQL 8.0 running on Windows Server 2019 but with certain limitations. The option 'MySQL 8.0 (on Windows)' specifically pertains to its monitoring through agentless solution DSF Hub.

    Hello SBISOC 4430, 

    Thank you for your information. I have managed to installed the Agent for the MySQL DB. However, i have follow the doc at this link (https://docs-cybersec.thalesgroup.com/bundle/v15.4-dam-administration-guide/page/7396.htm) and try to set up with the loopback interface listening for the agent, but so far i cant still not receive any audit logs from the DB. 

    You mentioned that there is limitation. Please kindly let me know what limit it is when using Agent for MySQL DB. Thank you and much appreciated.

    Hi Chau Vo Ba,

    MySQL Windows based agent does not support TLS v1.3 and user space monitoring unlike its counter Linux based agents. Secondly, DHE ciphers are not supported by it.

    Hi SBISOC 4430,

    I have managed to solve the problems by changing the cipher used by the database to the standard one that are supported by Imperva. I have also try to upload the server private & public key for further assist in decrypting traffic (I'm not sure if this method is needed if i have already changed the used cipher tho, but after that i have managed to see the logs coming in from the MySQL DB).
