Change agent to user space mode from kernel mode

  • 1.  Change agent to user space mode from kernel mode

    What is the procedure to change 14.5+ agents to user mode on Oracle and MsSQL servers?
    We updated agents recently, and only new installs are in user-mode.

    I found an article about requiring a db restart.
    Is the only change the collect technology field in config_params.xml?

    I have a couple of agents already in user mode (they were new installs).
    In the config_params.xml file the force-collect-Oracle-in-user-space is set to false, and the collect-Oracle-in-user-space  is set to true.
    But, this is the same on servers running in kernel mode that just recently had an agent update.

    Hello Robert,

    Thank you for the post, In order to active Oracle User Space monitoring the next advance configuration need to be set:

    <collect-Oracle-in-user-space>true</collect-Oracle-in-user-space>

    And restart the agent.
